It's been quite sometime that Canadian company BlackBerry is in news. Recently, the smartphone maker has announced that it will discontinue making smartphones and would be outsourcing the hardware from other manufacturers. The outsourcing will be from manufacturers mainly TCL (Alcatel).
In a recent video interview with BNN, BlackBerrry CEO John Chen mentioned that BlackBerry plans to release another smartphone and this one too will have a full, physical QWERTY keyboard like most BlackBerry devices (except BlackBerry Priv) in the next couple of years. The device is temporarily named as DTEK60 and is identical to an Alcatel IDOL 4S, which is made by TCL.
It's something to think about - would users still want to use a smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard in an era where touch screen phones are ruling the market? Well, let's wait and watch.
