MacBook Air and MacBook Pro users love their new gadget but are not very happy about the missing USB port because their connectivity options become limited. Also, to connet anything to the new Mac, you need a new dongle. Well, not anymore, a new product called the HyperDrive is here to solve all your problems related to connectivity.
HyperDrive is a Kickstarter project and according to the designers, the HyperDrive the most compact and fastest 50Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 USB-C hub for MacBooks. The device adds a HDMI output, USB 3.1 ports, microSD/SD port, Thunderbolt 3, and USB-C ports to your MacBook. The HyperDrive hub is designed in such a way that it plugs into both of the USB-C ports on the side of the MacBook.
Although compact in size , the hub hangs off the side of the notebook spolining the shape of the sleek machine but then it gives you back the ports that the current MacBook is missing. Additionally, the 50Gb/s bandwidth is more than other USB-C dongles available in the market and offers enough bandwidth for all the ports on the HyperDrive to be used at the same time.
The Thunderbolt 3 port on the HyperDrive supports up to 100W power delivery so you can charge the MacBook Pro at full speed while using the machine. Till date the project has already raised $268,000 through crowdfunding. if you decide to fund the project with $69 or more, you will get a silver or space gray HyperDrive. The retail price will be $99 when the HyperDrive hits the market and it will start shipping in March 2017.
