While the new Android update, Android 7.0 or Nougat has been released to certain Google devices like Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Pixel C many device owners are still awaiting.
Well, the wait won't be long atleast for Motorola users. Tech experts believe that Motorola devices will receive the update as early as next month.
Based on previous updates this may be true as last year too Motorola gadgets received the Android Marshmallow update right after Nexus devices did. So this year too, there is a possibility of Moto devices receiving the Android Nougat update.
As per the reports, the bigger and newer Motorola models, including the Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force, and Moto Z Force Droid will get Android Nougat on October whereas the Moto X Play, Moto X Style, and Moto X Force, will receive the update on November. Other models — including the Moto G4 Play, Moto G (third generation) and Moto E (third generation) may get it early next year.
Since Google has not released the source code of the newest Android OS to phone manufacturers as yet and also after receiving the code, manufacturers require a good amount of time to customize the source code for their devices we will have to wait and see if Lenovo really could rollout the Nougat update for Motorola phones next month.
Lenovo further added that the second-generation Moto X won’t get the firmware update because its processor is not compatible with the latest Android OS.
Just a recap of Android Nougat - An update which comes with a few much needed features like VR interface, Google Assistant, Screen Zoom, better power efficiency, multi-window experience, and a lot more new emojis.
