The latest report about the upcoming Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S8 mentions that Samsung will be ditching the home button and going in for a fingerprint identification placed beneath the screen, probably based on the ultrasonic biometric tech by Qualcomm.
Yet another report claims that the Galaxy S8 will keep its Quad HD resolution, but will use an RGB Super AMOLED panel instead of a Diamond PenTile-based one. If this happens, it would mean that there will be about 50% more subpixels, resulting in more sharpness and even better picture quality. Thegreatest difference would be seen in VR, where the picture will be noticeably crisper than the one produced by the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge inside a Gear VR. Also, the panel will be made of a stronger and sturdier material making it harder to damage or break.
The Galaxy S8 should be announced in February and is expected to be shipped in March.
