Finally after much speculation, Samsung launched its new flagship the "Galaxy Note 7."
The specs of the new flagship are :
The phablet features a 5.7- inch Quad HD dual-edge SuperAmoled display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixel. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
It sports a 12MP Dual Pixel rear-camera with Optical Image Stabilization as well as a 5MP front snapper.
Additionally, the Note 7 includes both an iris scanner and a fingerprint sensor. The device also will come with a 4GB RAM clubbed with either an octa-core Exynos 8890 processor or the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor depending on the different markets.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with an in-built storage of 64GB which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. Users will also benefit with a complimentary 15GB of cloud storage courtesy of Samsung Cloud.
But what's hilarious is the way Samsung reacted to the rumour that the next iPhone flagship - the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus would NOT have the headphone jack. During the launch of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung's SVP of product strategy, Justin Denison, mentioned on stage, "Do you know what else it comes with? An audio jack, just saying," which no doubt got the response he intended - laughter from the audience.
The part of the iPhone where the audio jack was earlier placed is being replaced by an extra speaker. But idea of Apple dropping the audio jack has not gone well even with Apple fans. According to a report in BBC, over 300,000 people have signed a petition urging Apple not to do away with its audio jacks.
The reason behind Apple deciding to drop the audio jack is to encourage users to plug headphones into the Lightning port or use Bluetooth instead.
There are also whispers that maybe Apple could be offering entirely wireless headphones over Bluetooth.
Now, how much of this is true only time will tell....
