Chinese company Xiaomi is out with its latest gadget - the Mi Electric Scooter on its MiJia crowdfunding platform in China.
The Mi Electric Scooter is made using aircraft grade aluminium alloy body and weighs just 12.5kg. It has a top speed of 25kmph and comes with LG 1850 EV-lithium ion battery with a battery capacity of 280Wh. The scooter comes with instantaneous power of 500W. The electric scooter also comes with a dual-brake system. The front wheel has E-ABS anti-lock braking system, while the rear wheel uses mechanical double disk brake that ensures that the scooter comes to a halt quickly in a smooth manner.
What's interesting about the scooter is that it can be folded easily at the press of a button just in 3 seconds. Being lightweight and foldable makes it easily portable too. Also, the Mi electric scooter has a Kinetic Energy recovery system that converts kinetic energy into electric energy thus improving its battery life. The scooter can be controlled by connecting it to your smartphone via Bluetooth and allows users to track their speed, battery life and battery health etc.
The Mi Electric Scooter will be made available in two colour variants - White and Black. It is priced at CNY 1999 (roughly Rs. 19,500) and will be available from December 15 in China. Although the company has not announced about its release plans in any other countries, there is a possibility that like many other Xiaomi products, it will be available only in China.
