The much loved and enjoyed console game Super Mario is all set to make its appearance on smartphones, iPhones to be more specific.
Named as 'Super Mario Run' the full fledged running game was announced by Shigeru Miyamoto, father of Mario along with Apple's CEO Tim Cook at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
Cook introduced the iconic game by saying, “Since the launch of the App Store someone has been missing on the App Store, but I’m glad to say, he’s arrived now."
Miyamoto said, “The magic of Mario is anyone can pick up and start playing, and now we’ve made it even easier. You can even play it one handed, while you’re holding onto the handle on the subway, while eating a hamburger, or even an Apple.I want everyone around the world to enjoy Mario, and they’ll be able to enjoy it on iOS first."
It has a two modes - a classic Mario run-to-the-flag mode and a battle mode, where players can compete with friends and others across the internet.
The game will be available for a fixed price which means that it will not follow the usual trend wherein the game can be downloaded for free but later players have to make in-app purchases to proceed further in the game. Super Mario stickers will also be available for the new iMessage in iOS 10.
With the announcement of Super Mario Run, Apple and Nintendo hope to bring back the old memories of gaming in a more exciting mode with the two modes of playing and make it a success today as it was in the past.
